Prevention of sports injuries

- A specific exercise training programme should be strictly followed to gradually gain maximum muscle strength needed for particular game.
- An adequate stretching and warm up protocol should be followed before going to the gameplay and similarly a cool down time should also be given to the body.
- An exercise programme should be such that you gradually gain strength and never do a quick and overdose of exercise to prevent fatigue.
- In addition to the game specific exercise protocol, general body build, core body exercises, should also the part of exercise programme.
- Always wear protective gears specific for each game to protect the vulnerable parts of body like, padded gloves, helmets, elbow, wrist and knee guards, thigh , shin , scrotal and chest guards etc.
- Every player should eat a healthy diet for the muscles and bone growth and never go to the ground after taking a full meal.
- An adequate rest should be given to the injured part to recover and a post injury rehab programme should be followed till you gain the pre-injury level of muscle strength before returning to the field.
- Take adequate rest before and after playing each game so that body is fully ready to play again with same strength
